With more than 15 years’ experience managing and supporting diverse information systems, corporate IT strategies, information security roadmap, enterprise cloud migrations, overseeing technical systems implementations, software development, application security, and developing IT policies in multiple user environments, Gary Tsimba brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to American Society of Travel Advisors. Before joining ASTA, Gary led and executed complex and multi-disciplinary projects for several organizations. Gary also serves as a Consultant and Chief Information Security Officer of Vertical Data Engineering Systems, LLC, an information security and technology service provider to several industries. Gary, currently a Doctoral candidate studying the strategic alignment of technology management and information security, holds an MBA in Technology Management, BS in Information Technology and Security from Colorado Technical University, and a Master Certificate in Information Systems Security Management from Villanova University. Gary also holds globally recognized information security certifications and participates in several information security forums.
As ASTAs Director of Information Technology, Gary Tsimba is responsible for developing the information technology roadmap, information security strategies, and to continue to optimize ASTA’s digital information assets and systems operations to support our membership.
Favorite line: Cybersecurity is all about managing risk; cybersecurity is not an IT issue, but rather a risk for the whole organization; tackling it is more about people, behavior, and culture.
