Genevieve Strand serves as Director, Advocacy at the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA), where is she manages the day to day operations of ASTA's advocacy work on behalf of the travel agency community at all levels of government, within the travel industry and before the traveling public.
Before joining ASTA, Strand worked at the National Restaurant Association, the U.S. Travel Association, and the Embassy of Canada in Washington, DC. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Calgary with a BA in French Literature. She earned her Master of Public Policy in Defense and Security Policy from the American University in Washington DC, where she was inducted into the Pi Alpha Alpha Global Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration in recognition of her outstanding scholarship and accomplishment in public affairs and administration. She lives in Alexandria with her husband Rich and cats Desdemona and Hopper.
